Mike Norvell has been clear on his stance in the fight for social justice, and Thursday night made another clear statement via his Twitter account.

Mike Norvell isn’t afraid to state where he stands in the fight for social justice. These times are not unprecedented, as the fight for social justice has been going on for decades.

The thing that’s changed the most is the number of young people involved in the fight. More than ever, we see young people from all walks of life marching/protesting.

It’s not that these injustices have just started happening, it’s that they are documented more frequently with the advancement in technology.

The scary part is they seem to be and are likely happening daily. That’s likely why Mike Norvell felt the need to issue his statement below:

Thoughts

I think it’s great Mike Norvell isn’t afraid to take a stance unlike most of the college coaches across the landscape. Dabo Swinney and others love to straddle the fence or avoid the conversation altogether.

That’s precisely why the situation is where it’s at right now. The stance some of the FSU football fans took in the comments section of the piece is sickening, although most fans supported his stance, which is great to see.

I’m not sure why some people take someone saying the term “Black Lives Matter” as support for an organization itself?

Why can’t it be a statement that they do matter, and it’s OK to state that without trying to insinuate he’s affiliating himself with an actual organization? Nowhere in that statement does he suggest he’s going to donate money or try to organize a march or anything with the organization itself.

It’s simple, Norvell agrees people of color are not treated equally across the board, and that needs to change. Plain and simple, and that’s my coach.
