FSU football continues to lay the groundwork for its 2021 recruiting class. The tight end position is one of great importance for the Noles.

FSU football coaches are looking to add the best players possible to get the program back to where it’s supposed to be.

They have 13 commitments and have sent out over 290 scholarship offers for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

I wrote about how the tight end position was an area the coaching staff was attempting to accumulate talent in the 2021 recruiting class.

The Noles have two commitments and will likely take another if it’s the right fit for the program. Three-star Mitchell Evans listed the Noles in his top 10 list Saturday night via his Twitter account:

Evans hails from Wadsworth, Ohio, and has 24 offers from the likes of FSU, Michigan State Notre Dame. Louisville, Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia, and a host of other schools.

He checks in at 6’7″ and 240 pounds and is considered the No. 435 ranked player nationally, No. 20 tight end and the No. 14 player in the state of Ohio by 247 Sports.

He has one 247 Sports  Crystal Ball prediction to Michigan State with a No. 6 level of certainty.

Thoughts on his recruitment

It makes sense to see a crystal ball for Michigan State. They are one of if not his earliest Power Five offer, and they’re close to home.

The Noles didn’t offer until June 18 so it’s good to see they made the top 10 list. He’s yet to visit Tallahassee, so that’ll be a key part of seeing what direction his recruitment goes.

The Noles had another 6’7″ tight end recently in Alexander Marshall who entered the transfer portal without becoming a contributor. However, Mike Norvell’s offense involves the tight end a bit more than Jimbo Fisher and Willie Taggart.

Let’s see if the coaching staff pursues Evans hard to get him on campus when the dead period restrictions are lifted.
