FSU football continues to add talent from the transfer portal. Former UCLA Jordan Wilson commits to the Noles.
FSU football has added several players from the transfer portal that count back to the 2020 recruiting class.
The latest addition is former UCLA tight end Jordan Wilson who announced intentions to transfer in January.
It’s the eighth player the Noles have added via the portal and works out well since offensive lineman Mike Arnold announced intentions to leave FSU and enter the portal Friday.
Wilson announced his commitment to the Noles via his Twitter account Saturday night.
Wilson is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and was considered a three-star player ranked as the No. 37 tight end in the nation. He had 17 offers from the likes of UCLA, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Missouri, Wake Forest, and West Virginia among others.
He checks in at 6’5″ and 255 pounds, which should serve well in the blocking game for Mike Norvell’s offense that loves to feature the run.
He played three seasons at UCLA, totaling 25 receptions for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns in 34 career games.
The tight end position needed more depth going into the 2020 season. Tre McKitty transferred to Georgia, which left Camren McDonald as the most experienced tight end on the roster who has six career receptions.
Wilson will join true freshman Carter Boatwright on the depth chart, giving the Noles three viable options at the position.
This is another testament to the coaching staff’s ability to find players who can contribute immediately, as Wilson is a graduate transfer with one year left to play.
I wrote how the Noles could have some momentum on the recruiting trails soon on Friday. Hopefully, this commitment will be the beginning of will some recruiting momentum that will make me look like a prophet!
