FSU football has done a good job of getting out offers to 2022 recruits. The latest is a blue-chip wide receiver from Texas named Armani Winfield.

FSU football brought in a solid group of wide receivers in its 2020 recruiting class and is the leader for 2021 blue-chip wide receiver Destyn Pazon.

However, that hasn’t stopped the coaching staff from moving forward to 2022 and evaluating playmakers ahead of time.

The latest offer heads out to blue-chip 2022 wide receiver Armani Winfield who hails from Lewisville, Texas.

The 6’2″ 180-pound wide receiver already holds 32 offers from the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, FSU, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, and others.

As you can see, he’s highly sought after with Oklahoma holding both of the 247 Crystal Ball predictions.

It should be noted Alabama offered Winfield on May 8, 2019, almost a full year earlier than FSU. The offer tweeted is pinned to his Twitter profile for what it’s worth, and it should be noted he wasn’t offered by Mike Norvell while he was the head coach at Memphis.

Long story short, the coaching staff will have some work to do with this one.

Thoughts

I’m all for the coaching staff going after quality players, but I hope they don’t fall too much in love with going after skill players outside of the Florida and Georgia areas. They’ve only offered one wide receiver in Florida, and three from Georgia for the 2022 cycle as of right now.

The state of Florida had at least 10 blue-chip wide receivers in the 2020 class. The 2021 recruiting rankings are not up to date yet, but there are nine blue-chip wide receivers in Florida right now.

So if that trend continues, there will be about the same number of wide receivers in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Hopefully, we’ll see the FSU staff hone in on more Florida and Georgia players and get those offers out soon.
