FSU football: Noles make top 10 for four-star Latrell McCutchin
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football continues to work for momentum on the 2021 recruiting trail. Top 100 player Latrell McCutchin likes the Noles.
FSU football is working just like all the other schools during this coronavirus prompted dead period for recruiting.
The coaching staff is contacting players via video, text, graphic images on social media, and virtual campus tours among other things.
They appeared in a lot of top 5 or top 10 lists as of late with a lot of quality players for 2021.
Monday night was the latest with four-star defensive back Latrell McCutchin listing the Noles in his top-10.
McCutchin hails from Austin, Texas, and holds 30 offers from likes of FSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Georgia, Florida USC, Arizona, Arizona State, and others.
He’s considered the No. 98 player nationally, No. 10 cornerback in the nation, and the No. 14 ranked player in Texas.
He’s listed at 6’1″ 171 pounds with some big-time programs vying for his commitment, but missed all of last season with a torn ACL. The Noles offered him on March 2, so it’s promising they’re listed in his top 10.
However, getting him on the campus for the first time will be the biggest hurdle and there’s a lot of ground to make up being he was offered much later compared to other schools. For instance, Oklahoma and Alabama first offered him in May 2019.
He was formerly committed to Alabama, but Oklahoma holds the 247 Crystal Ball Prediction lead with 83 percent on 12 predictions.
Interestingly, he doesn’t have Texas A&M listed in his top 10 list being he’s from Texas. The Noles have no defensive backs committed for 2021 though they are in a solid spot for a couple.
Here’s to hoping FSU football can begin to win some of these recruiting battles instead of just making a top 5 or top 10 lists.
