FSU basketball is in a position to win the ACC regular-season title for the first time. One writer thinks they’ll win the ACC Tournament.

No. 7 FSU basketball (24-5, 14-4 ACC) has two regular-season games remaining and will win the ACC regular-season title as long as they win both games.

They’ve already earned the double-bye in the ACC Tournament and would only need to win three games to hoist its second ACC Tournament Championship.

It would be their first tournament title since the 2012 season when they defeated the No. 1 seed North Carolina 85-82.

Even though the regular season hasn’t concluded, ESPN writers have already given their predictions regarding who they think will win the ACC Tournament.

Two writers picked Duke, one picked Louisville, and another one picked FSU basketball to get the job done.

Those are the top three teams in the ACC this season. FSU lost to Duke by two points, and Louisville blew Duke out in their only meeting. FSU beat Louisville twice by double-digits during the regular season.

A team to keep an eye on would be defending national champion Virginia who has won six consecutive games, including a two-point win over Duke that put FSU basketball back in sole possession of first place after their loss to Clemson.

Can FSU Win The Tournament?

The Noles are arguably the deepest team in the country. They can force tons of turnovers, shoot free throws well most of the time, and can shoot the three-point shot fairly well.

It’ll come down to which teams are seeded where and who FSU would play in those three games. The two teams I’d least like to face in the tournament final would be Virginia and Duke.

Virginia’s playing some of their best basketball and their style of play is a tough matchup for the ‘Noles offense. Duke has guards that can penetrate off the dribble, which has been an issue for the Noles all season.

The Noles have a better than average chance with them needing to win just three games. It’ll all come down to the Noles playing smart basketball and taking good shots along with using their defense to convert points offensively with steals and turnovers.
