FSU basketball didn’t play its best game against North Carolina but managed to get the win. Check how Nole fans reacted.
No. 8 FSU basketball (19-3, 9-2 ACC) got its second win in three days with a strong second half to defeat North Carolina (10-12, 3-8 ACC) 65-59.
The first half was one of the worst first halves they’ve played in a while, but a 9-0 run to close the half gave the Noles a 29-28 lead.
The second half better with the Noles taking better shots and attacking the basket more. FSU was led by Trent Forrest and Patrick Williams who had 14 points each.
Devin Vassell was held to six points after scoring a career high in his last outing with the Noles shooting 42 percent from the floor overall. However, they were 15 of 17 from the charity stripe.
FSU’s defense held UNC to 30 percent shooting overall and won the rebounding battle overall. The game likely wouldn’t have been close if FSU didn’t turn the ball over 16 times.
FSU basketball fans were witty, real and happy all at the same time.

Great win by FSU basketball. Hard to beat a team as well as ACC refs- but we managed to do that. 🍢🍢

Is that good?
Thoughts
The Noles didn’t cover the spread but UNC is a different team with Cole Anthony on the court and he’s still working his way back into game shape.
They won the game but will need to play better when they take on Miami in the Tuck Center Saturday at 12 p.m. ET. Miami took the Noles took the brink in their last matchup, but in typical Miami fashion has collapsed after losing to the Noles.
They’ve lost three of their last four games since the overtime loss on January 18th. A win there would be the 20th of the season and would set up a monster top 10 matchup at Duke.
