FSU football is working to round out its 2020 recruiting class. They added some athleticism in 2020 athlete Darion Williamson.

FSU football has been on a roll trying to complete its 2020 recruiting class while laying the foundation for 2021 and beyond.

The Noles received a commit Sunday, Monday and now Tuesday with the addition of Darion Williamson.

Williamson is a former Tennessee commit that didn’t sign during the early signing period who got on FSU’s radar earlier this month after running back coach David Johnson was hired.

However, he’s familiar with Mike Norvell after attending a camp at Memphis in June 2019 with Memphis being the first school to offer him.

Williamson decommitted from Tennessee right after visiting FSU last week.

Williamson hails from Tennessee and is teammates with Markeston Douglas. He checks in at 6’3″ 190 pounds and will likely play wide receiver for the Noles.

He’s considered the No. 824 player nationally, No. 46 athlete and No. 24 player in the state of Tennessee by composite rankings.

Thoughts

The Noles have questions at wide receiver with four-star commit Malachi Wideman visiting other schools as National Signing Day  gets closer.

FSU did sign three wide receivers in the early signing period, but depth at the position was a concern in 2019 with Keyshawn Helton and Ontaria Wilson missing huge chunks of the season with injuries.

Keith Gavin exhausted his eligibility and Tre’Shaun Harrison entered the transfer portal. The addition of Williamson will help meet the need and he’s an athletic body with good size who can be developed.

What do you know? This is another former SEC pledge that’s decided to come to the good guys. Of course, people will say it’s not LSU or Alabama the Noles are beating for these players.

However, it still shows FSU is a brand that trumps a lot of others even though its been down the past three years.
