FSU football fans can finally cheer the commitment of an offensive tackle in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Fans react to Robert Scott flipping from Ole Miss.

FSU football addressed a major need in its 2020 recruiting class with the addition of 3-star offensive tackle Robert Scott.

The former Ole Miss commit flipped to the Noles Monday afternoon coming off a visit to Arkansas which is the state in which he lives.

The offensive tackle spot has been a sore spot for FSU fans the last few recruiting cycles. The staff has done a solid job of landing running backs and quarterbacks and fans would jokingly ask who was going to block for them?

It’s not like the coaching staff have been unaware of the need for offensive tackles. They’ve been contacting a lot of prospects and have gotten a number of them on campus, but it’s awfully late in the 2020 recruiting cycle.

The fact they were able to take Scott away from Ole Miss and Arkansas is pretty big and fans are excited.

Thoughts

Mike Norvell and the coaching staff deserve credit here. They identified Scott at a position of need and went in on him once he didn’t sign early with Ole Miss.

The fans are excited and it was telling a lot of Ole Miss and Arkansas fans were in the comments section too.

The funny thing was how they were talking about those schools like they were even remotely comparable to FSU football. Some of them were using their “SEC” is the tougher league card like SEC teams don’t play some soft schedules every year too. Just look at some of the teams LSU and Alabama play.

This commitment puts the Noles at the No. 20 spot in the composite rankings with 21 commitments with a few spots remaining in the class.
