FSU football: Odell Haggins believes fans will show for Alabama State
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has an important game Saturday as a win against Alabama State will make them bowl eligible. Will fans show for the game and Senior Day?
It’s a game FSU football needs to win to start a new bowl streak that was broken last season. The Noles enter Saturday’s contest against Alabama State as -41 point betting favorites courtesy of the Action Network.
It’s the largest spread the Noles have had as favorites since the 2017 against Delaware State.
It’s Senior Day in a year that’s seen attendance the lowest its been in years at Doak Campbell Stadium.
There have been three games with 53,000 or less(not counting the Boise State game that was moved at the last-minute) in Tallahassee this season, and it looks as though the Alabama State game could be the fourth.
It was a big win for the Noles last week over Boston College to have the chance to become bowl eligible with a win on Saturday.
Could the FSU football fans rally around interim coach Odell Haggins and the seniors who have been through some tough times the past few years?
Thoughts
I agree with Coach Haggins and it’s ridiculous the FSU student body doesn’t claim their allotment. Not even half of the amount tickets allotted to students have been claimed?
If the other 10,000 students would show up it was be a pretty nice crowd and atmosphere for these seniors who have endured three different head coaches and other changes on the staff.
I’ve been saying it and will keep saying it. If FSU football fans want the administration to play big boy football, then they need to start attending games or donating money like big boy football programs.
That’s the only way FSU football is going to be able to compete with the likes of Clemson and others in the upper tier of college football.
