FSU football has done a great job of filling its running back needs after a slow start to the 2020 recruiting cycle.

FSU football needed a minimum of two running backs this recruiting cycle with the option to take three with the possibility of losing both Cam Akers and Khalan Laborn after the 2019 season.

After not having any running back commits, FSU has landed two of the best running backs in the state of Florida in Jaylan Knighton and Lawrance Toafili.

Knighton’s considered the No. 3 all-purpose running back and Toafili’s considered the No. 13 running back in the nation.

There were a number of running back targets, but all of the dominoes seem to be falling into place. Knighton and Toafili committed to FSU and four-star running back Caziah Holmes committed to Penn State Friday.

That leaves four-star Keyvon Lee and four-star Daijun Edwards as the two most likely targets remaining for the Noles.

Lee has visited FSU at least four times, including the Saturday Night Live event in July. Edwards was in attendance as well and impressed in a short workout.

Lee announced the date he plans to commit Friday:

Penn State holds the 247 Crystal Ball Prediction lead with 80 percent of the predictions. FSU holds the 247 Crystal Ball Prediction lead with 100 percent of the predictions when it comes to Daijun Edwards.

It’s unclear when Edwards plans to announce his decision.

Both of these running backs would be nice compliments style wise to what Knighton and Toafili bring to the table.

They would only have one scholarship running back on the roster if Akers and Laborn leave.

The Briles’ offense does feature the running backs a lot and having several running backs to carry the load should be attractive in regards to saving tread on their bodies.

Nevertheless, the running back board is much more clearer now compared to just a month ago. It looks like the Noles are going to come out winners regardless of how things shake out with the remaining targets as long as things hold their course.
