FSU football was on a roll on the recruiting trails Thursday night. Georgia tight end Carter Boatwright pledges his commitment to Noles.

FSU football was in the mix to land a local tight end a couple of weeks ago but the kid ultimately choose to commit to Clemson.

Well, it’s funny how things work out because that player was told by the FSU coaches to improve his blocking and he took offense to the constructive criticism which is probably a red flag to begin with.

What did the FSU coaches do? They went out and got a three-star tight end Thursday night who’s the teammate of incoming freshman kicker Ryan Fitzgerald.

Carter Boatwright is 6’5″ 225 pounds who’s physical and not afraid to block AT ALL.

Oh, and he can catch too. I know some FSU fans whined and complained he didn’t have a composite ranking yet. However, I trust the FSU coaches’ evaluation here after watching his film.

I admittedly didn’t know much at all about Boatwright so I went and watched some film. He’s exactly what they want in a tight end in an offense that likes to run the ball and why it was a team effort in recruiting him.

How many times have we complained about a lack of blocking across the board? Here’s a kid that has a lot of dawg in him and not afraid to do the dirty work like some other tight ends that only care about catching the ball.

It’s not like they pulled Boatwright out of the blue as he’s been to FSU a couple of times and worked out. He’s been to a camp at Auburn and stood out too.

I like the take here at this position and he’s a player that could be helpful in a year or two. Boatwright gives the Noles `14 commits in the 2020 recruiting class with a composite ranking of No. 13.
