FSU football still needs some playmakers on the offensive side of the ball for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

FSU football is heavy on the defensive side in its 2020 recruiting class as only three of the 12 commitments are offensive players.

The Noles have one wide receiver, an offensive lineman and a quarterback so far and need to add more to each of those positions.

However, wide receiver and offensive line are two areas the Noles need to add at least three more commitments.

FSU football offered Winter Park athlete Marcus Clarke in December and he announced they had made his final 10 list of schools Sunday night.

Thoughts

Marcus Clarke is listed as an athlete but would likely play wide receiver at FSU. He stands around 5’10” 175 pounds and does not hold a 247 composite ranking although he holds 25 scholarship offers.

As you can see there are a number of ACC and SEC schools in the picture, but Clarke would be somewhat similar to 2018 recruit Keyshawn Helton who’s expected to be a contributor in the slot his sophomore season.

Clarke has been on campus for both FSU junior days this spring and does not appear to have visited anywhere else yet. The Noles should be in the driver’s seat as the only power five in-state college to offer with multiple visits.

For comparison sake, Clarke already has a faster 40 time and 20 yard shuttle than former FSU football wide receiver Nyqwan Murray.

He also has nearly the same vertical as Murray per his testing numbers at The Opening Regional event in February compared to Murray’s testing numbers at the NFL Combine this spring.

So although he doesn’t have a composite ranking he’s at least a three-star which is what Murray was. Murray demonstrated against good competition he could be productive when he was focused, so Clarke could be a good take if he decides to commit down the road.
