Roster Management

One of the biggest overhauls needed in the program was the state of the culture. There were players in leadership positions that were culture killers.

The good news is the majority of those players have exhausted eligibility or are no longer with the program for one reason or another.

This has given the younger players Willie Taggart brought in with his inaugural class a chance to take the reins and move forward with resetting expectations and establishing that accountability that was missing.

One of those expectations is performing well off the field and in the classroom. Coach Taggart took to his Twitter account to recognize 28 FSU football players who had a 3.0 or higher GPA this spring.

No players were lost due to grades to my knowledge and the other two players lost were Landon Dickerson and Xavier Peters.

Both players were talented players but Dickerson was injury prone and Peters redshirted last season. Those two players no longer being with the program simply open up two more scholarship sports for recruiting.
