FSU softball came up short in their bid to defend their 2018 National title. Fans show a ton of support for their amazing season.
No. 4 FSU softball (55-10) saw its season come to a close Saturday in the rubber game set against No. 13 Oklahoma State.
Both losses in the series were primarily the Noles beating themselves. They left tons of runners stranded in the first game and committed four errors in the third and deciding game.
Both of those things are uncharacteristic of this softball team and they have nothing to be ashamed of.
FSU softball fans felt the same way as they showered the team with praised on social media following the loss:

You all are the best! What you’ve been, both on and off the field is truly remarkable. If your only accomplishment this year was to bless that little girl who is now cancer free, that would have more than stellar; and yet you blessed so many more, including my family and me! 🏹❤️

Thoughts
It does suck to not play your A game in such an important game, but that’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I thought it was classy for FSU fans to show so much support to a non-revenue sport and its players.
Coach Lonni Alameda has this program operating at an elite level as they have won 50 plus games for four consecutive seasons.
It was one of the most prolific offenses in the nation with 104 homeruns and eight players batting over .300 on the season.
Meghan King ended her career just one win shy of tying Lacey Waldrop for the most in FSU history.
The Noles will lose some important players off this team in the aforementioned King, Carsyn Gordon, Cali Harrod and Zoe Casas.
The latter three player listed all batted .340 or higher and accounted for 34 homeruns and 114 RBI’s on the season.
That’s a lot of offensive firepower to lose not to mention one of the best pitchers in FSU softball history.
However, there’s a solid group of young players that were extremely productive this season who will have a chance to keep this program playing at an elite level.
Great season FSU softball!
