FSU football has positioned itself in favorable position with some nice blue chip players for 2020. Will the spring game help land a huge haul like last year?

The hype for FSU football was at an all time high the week of the spring game in 2018. A record 60,000 fans showed up.

A host of former players came back to support the program and some of the most high-profile recruits in the nation were in Tallahassee.

It was an amazing job by the staff to get so many high-profile recruits on campus considering they were behind because of having to finish out the 2018 class at the last-minute due to the old staff shenanigans.

That weekend yielded commitments from four-star linebacker Jaleel McRae, four-star offensive guard Dontae Lucas, three-star wide receiver Maurice Goolsby and another blue chip player that didn’t make it into the class and will remain nameless.

It was a huge haul that gave the Noles a ton of momentum going into the summer with McRae and Lucas being some of the most vocal recruiters in the 2019 class.

The Noles will look to replicate that momentum this weekend with several players planning to visit for the spring game. The good news is they already have two commits recruiting extremely hard for the 2020 class.

Here’s small sample of the players that plan to be there.

2020 four-star running back from Atlanta, Georgia.

2020 Three-star offensive guard and Kentucky commit.

2020 offensive tackle from Lowndes HS in Georgia.

2020 four-star athlete from Cocoa, Florida.

2020 three-star offensive guard from Fort Lauderdale, FL.

2020 three-star defensive tackle from Armwood HS which is home to current FSU wide receiver Warren Thompson and defensive tackle Malcolm Lamar.

Thoughts

There are a ton of recruits visiting from the 2020 class and there are others from 2021 and beyond who’ll be making the rounds too.

The star power from last year may not be quite the same, but there are some key recruits who could pull the trigger this weekend and join the class.

FSU football currently has seven commitments and set in the No. 8 spot nationally. A couple of key additions followed by some wins early in the season could be all the Noles need to land a top five class.
