FSU Football: Fans react to offensive lineman Zane Herring commitment
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football added its seventh commitment of the 2020 class Saturday. We have the fan reaction from offensive lineman Zane Herring’s commitment.
FSU football hosted “Zane Herring Day” Saturday and the move paid off with a commitment from the long time Nole lean.
Herring is a three-star offensive guard that’s ranked No. 448 overall and the No. 21 offensive guard in the nation.
He had been to FSU’s campus multiple times and is the teammate of 2019 FSU signee Travis Jay.
Herring made the announcement on his Twitter page and of course Coach Willie Taggart sent out one of his patented “Ring, Ring, Ring…Great Call For The Noles” tweets:
FSU fans understand the importance of recruiting momentum and FSU’s struggle with getting offensive linemen to commit as of late. Check out their reactions:

Thoughts
I think this is a big deal for the Noles. Herring is a player with good size at 6’5″ 300 pounds. He’ll likely need a year or two in FSU’s strength and conditioning program like most young offensive linemen, but he can be a player down the line for sure.
One of the most important thing is Herring’s love for FSU and filling a position of need.. He was already acting like a commitment prior to committing, and both he and quarterback Jeff Sims seem to have a friendly competition going on who’ll be the best recruiter for the 2020 class.
It’s still early, but Herring’s commitment moves FSU football to No. 6 overall in the recruiting rankings and No. 2 in the ACC.
FSU with two players going hard to recruit for the Noles? All they have to do now is deliver on the field in 2019 and this should turn into a great class.
