FSU baseball coach Mike Martin accomplishes something noone else in history with victory No. 2,000 Saturday night against Virginia Tech.
Mike Martin already has the most wins in college baseball history and now becomes the first collegiate coach ever with 2,000 victories.
The win came in the second game of a double-header against Virginia Tech. The win completed the series victory as the Noles took two of three games from the Hokies.
It was a tough win as the Noles were nearly no-hit in the first game as they were shutout 6-0 while only getting one hit and committing two errors.
The second game saw the Noles jump out front on a Cooper Swanson blast in the bottom of the first.

It’s no coincidence that MM are the roman numerals for 2,000.

Best part of it? Heard 11 say to someone who congratulated him, “Thanks for coming out to this weekend’s series!”

Thoughts
It was important for the Noles to bounce back from their first loss of the season after being shutout and nearly no-hit.
A series win against an ACC opponent is always a welcome sight and Mike Martin being able to do it in front of the home crowd was even better.
The Noles improve to (13-1, 2-1 ACC) and will take on hated rival Florida in Gainesville Tuesday March 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Mike Martin has lost his last nine games against the Gators with next week being a great day to start a new winning streak against them.
