FSU Football: Fans react to hiring of Randy Clements

FSU football has hired its final offensive coach in new offensive line coach Randy Clements. FSU fans react to the long-awaited hire.
One of the worst kept secrets of college football was finally revealed Thursday when FSU football officially announced the hiring of new offensive line coach Randy Clements.
Clements come to FSU from Houston where he coached with new FSU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.
It was long thought Clements coming to FSU was a package deal when Kendal Briles was hired in December.
The two have worked together at Baylor from 2008 to 2016 prior to the year at Houston. Check out the fan reaction.
Clements spoke on the new gig with Seminoles.com:
"“I want to start by thanking Coach Taggart for this opportunity,” Clements said. “My family and I are thrilled to be part of this prestigious program. My background with Kendal will be valuable, but I’m also looking forward to integrating with the rest of the staff and can’t wait to get to know and work with the student-athletes on campus. I am excited to work toward our goal of bringing Florida State its next championship.”"
Thoughts
This hire and more importantly Kendal Briles will likely make or break the Willie Taggart era at FSU football.
However, it’s a gamble worth taking as Briles is arguably the best offensive coordinator the Noles could hire with Clements being someone he prefers to work with on his offensive line.
The two have produced monster numbers at two different places, but they’ll likely have their biggest challenge yet in 2019 with the FSU football offensive line that’s a work in progress.
FSU has a couple of pieces to work with as they’ve brought in a couple of transfers while still looking at other experienced options in the transfer portal.
More importantly, I hope the players on the current roster have been putting the appropriate time in the strength and conditioning part of the program. They’ve lacked physicality and technique the past four or five years.
I’m not sure how much better the offense will be in 2019, but barring an injury to James Blackman I expect significant improvements. One of the biggest issues last year was lack or coordination from Walt Bell.
Briles has proven experience and will have full control of the offense unlike Bell, so with Clements coaching the offensive line it should be a better product.
