FSU football recruits in the 2019 class are tasked with helping to change the culture in Tallahassee. They already have a message for everyone.

FSU football has endured a lot of negativity the past two years. The program has gone 12-13 in that time frame and gotten obliterated in several games dating back to the Louisville loss in 2016.

When’s the last time you remember the defense laying the wood consistently to teams? Can you remember the last big hit by a FSU defender?

I do, it was the Matthew Thomas hit on the Michigan linebacker in the Orange Bowl after Noonie Murray fumbled the punt.

When’s the last time year you remember the offense coming out and putting a touchdown up on their first offensive possession then putting a team away in the first quarter?

Things have gotten too complacent in recent years and it seems the 2019 recruiting class has heard enough about it.

Twitter Reaction

Four-star linebacker Jaleel McRae who was one of FSU’s most vocal leaders on social media.

Four-star defensive end Curtis Fann who was another big-time vocal leader for the class.

Four-star linebacker Kalen DeLoach who stuck with his commitment with other schools coming after him hard.

Thoughts

This is the change FSU football needs. However, it’s one thing to talk about it but this culture change has to take place right now during the offseason.

This is when all the hard work is put in during weight room sessions. Players have to hold one another accountable. I’ve used the analogy of a football team working like a car engine before.

All of the parts of the engine have to be working in unison for optimal performance. If one part fails the engine doesn’t perform as well, and the same goes for any team oriented game.
