FSU football fans continue to fall in the trap of reacting to things before they are final. The transfer portal could be the death of them.

FSU football isn’t winning the off-season as they did last year so far. Frankly, winning the offseason doesn’t mean anything when you look how the Noles did in 2018.

A lot of fans are losing faith in Willie Taggart for a number of reasons. He’s taking to long to make coaching changes.

He was brought to FSU because he could recruit and because his offenses were good. Well, he doesn’t have a top five recruiting class and his offense sucked in 2018 is what fans are saying.

Now the news that several FSU players have put their name in the transfer portal breaks by Noles247 and it’s like the world has come to an end.

James Blackman, George Campbell, Amir Rasul and Pops Upshur are among those players that have added their name to the transfer portal.

Basically, a player can put his name in the portal to gauge interest from other schools. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are leaving the program as they can withdraw their name if they want similar to how Xavier Peters did last month.

Regardless, FSU football fans are on edge with anything that seems negative after the 2018 season.

Thoughts

No question it would be a huge loss for Willie Taggart if James Blackman actually transferred. He’s only one of two quarterbacks on the roster eligible to play in 2019 at the moment, but there’s no guarantee Deondre Francois will be at FSU in the fall either.

In fact, I think the only reason Francois is back is because he didn’t actually graduate as expected in December.

The other players have not contributed much of anything to the program and are not expected to do so. Good luck to them, but them transferring would open up some scholarship spaces that could be used in 2020 which will be the most important recruiting class for Willie Taggart.

Until Blackman transfers I’d advise all FSU football fans to relax as Aaron Rodgers would say. Why worry about something that hasn’t happened yet?

Blackman has three years of eligibility left to play, but would he be willing to sit out another year if he transferred(unless he went to the FCS level)?
