FSU football is one win away from preserving its 37th consecutive bowl streak. Players react to their win over Boston College.

FSU football had been there before this season when they came from behind to beat Louisville. It was late in the game and they needed to score a touchdown to win it.

The only problem was they needed to go nearly the length of the field in under three minutes against a top 25 ranked defense in Boston College.

Three plays and 56 seconds later the Noles had scored a touchdown on a long passing play just as they did against Louisville in which the FSU defense had to get a stop to preserve the win afterwards.

Both wins helped get the Noles to where they are now, just one win away from securing their 37th consecutive bowl appearance.

It was clear from the start of the game getting a win against Boston College was do or die. The offense marched right down the field on two explosive plays on their first possession only to have the field goal blocked.

However, it wasn’t the customary three and out fans had become accustomed to. The FSU defense forced a three and out and a turnover on Boston College’s first two offensive possessions.

It was clear the players were giving their all and after the game a few of them make it clear that preserving the bowl streak was a priority.

Thoughts

It was great to see the players play with such passion during the game. Dontavious Jackson was infectious and all over the field on defense with 14 total tackles.

Cam Akers ran hard and finally looked like the running back from last year who broke Dalvin Cook’s FSU freshman rookie record.

Not that the players hadn’t been playing hard, but they finally executed at a level that their efforts paid off to at least have a chance to win the game in the fourth quarter.

Almost every player that spoke to media after the Boston College game voiced how important preserving the bowl streak was and how they are looking to play arch rival Florida for a chance to solidify the streak.
