FSU Football opened as a significant underdog against Notre Dame Saturday. However, their chance to pull off the upset may have improved slightly with their QB being injured.

FSU football was up to an 18 point betting underdog against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as of Wednesday night.

However, that point spread may decrease a bit with multiple reports of Notre Dame starting QB Ian Book being injured and preparing to miss the FSU game.

The Irish are undefeated and seeking their first trip to the college football playoff after playing for the national title in 2012.

Book has been a significant upgrade for their offense after replacing Brandon Wimbush earlier in the season.

The chances of FSU winning have to increase just a tad I suppose even though it’s a home game for Notre Dame.

This would be the likely scenario as Wimbush has struggled as a passer.

Thoughts

The weather reports coming out of South Bend didn’t bode well for the Noles because of the cold and wind along with potential snowfall.

FSU hasn’t been able to establish any type of run game and those conditions wouldn’t bode well for trying to pass the ball a lot which is the only way the Noles have been able to move the ball.

However, if Brandon Wimbush is thrust into the starting lineup it does make their offense way more one-dimensional.

The strength of the FSU defense so far this season has been stopping the run. What that means is the game will likely be shortened because of a more running attack and maybe the ‘Noles defense can find a way to slow down Notre Dame enough to hang around until the fourth quarter?
