FSU football suffered an embarrassing home loss against Clemson Saturday. Former players were not happy with the performance.

FSU football started the game well on defense but that could only last for so long because the FSU offense was abysmal as usual.

A defensive penalty for roughing the kicker ignited what was the beginning of the onslaught near the end of the first quarter.

The Noles were terrible in all three phases of the game. Penalties on special teams, fumble on special teams, defensive players missing tackles and defensive backs getting burned on go routes.

The FSU offense with several penalties for illegal formations were part of what turned into one of the worst losses in FSU football history.

The Noles have a proud history and a long list of proud former players and they were not happy with what they saw Saturday against Clemson.

That’s nothing but the truth. The kid didn’t even want to put the backpack on it seemed.

Yes, yes it was.

Thoughts

I read a lot of stuff on social media after the game and quite frankly there are a lot of delusional fans out there. Listen, FSU was as big as a 18 point underdog AT home for a reason.

No, they shouldn’t have gotten beat by almost 50 points either but I’m not sure what some fans were expecting Saturday. There have been far worse losses like Louisville in 2016 and who could forget the 30-0 loss against Wake Forest.

I suppose beating one of the worst teams in the conference last week so easily gave fans false hope against Clemson.

The fact of the matter is it falls somewhere in the middle. FSU isn’t quite as bad as they played against Clemson Saturday, but the way they respond next week against NC State will tell you all you need to know about this team and whether real progress is being made or not.
