FSU football needed to play a near perfect game to be competitive with Clemson but instead found multiple ways to beat themselves.

Listen, we knew the odds of FSU football beating Clemson were slim to none going into the game.

They couldn’t commit stupid penalties or turn the ball over and that’s exactly what broke the game open after playing a solid first quarter.

The ‘Noles miscues and not taking advantage of their early opportunities is what did them in.

Asante Samuel Jr. got a roughing the kicker call on a missed field goal it was all down hill after that.

The momentum swung completely towards Clemson after turning the miscues into a touchdown and they never took their foot off the gas beat FSU 59-10.

Clemson led 28-0 at the half and FSU had eight penalties for 64 yards and a turnover. They were awful on special teams, allowing Clemson big returns and the usual flags for blocking in the back.

I have a question. How can you get flagged for a block in the back and the returner doesn’t even make it to the 20 yard line?

The second half saw Trevor Lawrence torch the FSU secondary with huge play after huge play. However, who could blame the defense after the FSU offense continues to hang them out to dry with terrible performances?

The FSU offense had 65 total yards at halftime and didn’t score until it was 45-0 with three minutes to go in the third quarter.

The game went just as we said it would if FSU football didn’t avoid shooting themselves in the foot. The crazy thing is the offensive line actually passed blocked fairly well considering who they were going up against and what they are working with.

Why in the world did FSU not start targeting Tamorrion Terry until the game was a blow out?

We didn’t learn anything we didn’t already know from this game. The team AND fans need to just flush them one out of their system and hope to beat NC State next week.

Clemson was the superior team by far, but a lot of it was FSU beating itself with terrible play and lack of execution.
