FSU recruiting has been rather quite since its last addition to the 2019 class last month. We check the temperature after the Miami loss.

FSU recruiting is holding down the No. 10 overall spot in the 2019 recruiting rankings with 16 commits.

The Noles have 13 commits rated as blue chip players (four-star or better) and an average player rating of  92.10 which is one of the highest in the nation.

The 2019 season hasn’t gone anything like most of us thought with the Noles holding a (3-3) record heading into their bye week.

It actually looked like it was going to be worse than that at one point. However, despite the disappointing start it seems the FSU commits believe in Willie Taggart and trusting the process.

Here’s some of their recent reactions.

No. 194 ranked player overall and No.10 ranked linebacker in the nation Jaleel McRae.

No. 116 ranked player and No. 10 ranked safety in the nation Brendan Gant.

No. 68 ranked player and No. 5 ranked safety in the nation Nick Cross.

No. 113 ranked player and No. 5 ranked OG in the nation Dontae Lucus

No. 164 ranked player and No. 17 ranked cornerback in the nation Travis Jay.

No. 209 ranked player and No. 15 ranked SDE in the nation Quashon Fuller.

No. 245 ranked player and No. 20 ranked WDE in the nation Curtis Fann.

Thoughts

There are a lot of factors that go into whether a recruit decides to commit or stay committed to a program. A lot of times the on the field record isn’t a huge factor.

All you have to do is look at the 2010 FSU recruiting class that followed a 7-6 season by the 2009 FSU squad.

That class has the likes of future NFL players Lamarcus Joyner, Christian Jones, Telvin Smith, Terrance Brooks, Bjorn Werner, Mike Harris, Will Tye,  and Cam Erving.

FSU recruiting still has some holes to fill in this class with offensive linemen, linebackers and likely one more defensive back and running back.

There’s about eight more spots or so left in this class and the Noles are in the mix for several talented players. It’ll be interesting to see how this class rounds out.
