FSU basketball had a special moment in the Tucker Center Saturday afternoon when senior Braian Angola’s mom surprised him.

FSU basketball had a lot to be smiling about after its come from behind victory over Boston College Saturday afternoon.

However, there were a lot of tears flowing before the game as FSU honored its senior players before the final home game of their career.

Phil Cofer, Brandon Allen and Braian Angola with the latter stealing the show when his mother flying in from Colombia to see he play for the first time.

Check out the moment in the video below:

As my mom’s only son, I can tell you the bond between us is like no other and I’m sure that’s what Braian Angola was feeling at that moment.

Of course Angola played like a man possessed, finishing with 21 points on 8 of 10 shooting with some clutch free throws made down the stretch.

Angola finished the season as the third leading scoring on the team with 12.7 points per game.

Thoughts

Angola had a great senior season as he was a huge reason the Noles had the success they had.  He went from playing just 11.8 minutes per game to over 27 minutes per game since last year.

Also, he increased scoring from his junior season from 4.6 ppg to nearly 13 points this year.

He’ll continue to be an important part of FSU basketball as they look to advance through the ACC Tournament before hopefully going to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
