FSU Football: Fans react to coach leaving ‘Noles to join Jimbo Fisher

FSU football loses an ace recruiter but gets the better end of the deal.
Former FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher was responsible some of the best recruiting classes in eight years at FSU. However, a large part of his success the last few years can be attributed to one of his position coaches.
FSU tight end coach Tim Brewster.
Brewster was the one coach on the FSU staff that embraced social media and got the FSU fan base riled up when mentioning where he was going to recruit. He also talked smack to Miami superfan “Uncle Luke” from time to time.
However, amid the coaching changes at FSU, it wasn’t clear if he would stay on the FSU stay though most figured that would not be the case.
It’s no longer a mystery as he let the cat out of the bag Tuesday morning.
Brewster did a lot of good things for FSU recruiting wise although the tight end position may not have been developed as much as we wanted. In the end, he had a tremendous impact on the program with some of the blue chip players he was able to land outside of the state of Florida.

It’s like my man Heavy D said back in the day, the fans got “nothing but love for you baby” as he put in a ton of work on the recruiting trails.
The other great part of this news is he was considering going to work for Dan Mullen of the Florida Gators. He and Mullen worked together at Mississippi State back in the day.
It would have been tough going up against him in the state of Florida for blue chip recruits, so it’s a win-win deal with him following Jimbo out to Texas.

The ‘Noles shouldn’t have to worry about him too much on the recruiting trails, but it was good for him to acknowledge his time in Tallahassee as he really seemed to enjoy his time at FSU.
