FSU football endured a crazy week but came out victorious to go bowling for the 36th consecutive year. We have the player and fan reactions.

What a week for FSU football huh? They lose a national championship winning coach, and replace him with a coach that’s been at FSU longer than any player on the team has been alive in Odell Haggins.

Haggins is the interim coach of course until FSU decides on who they’ll hire to replace Jimbo Fisher. The team seemed to play much looser with some swag to boot in their win over Louisiana-Monroe.

It was a misty-eyed scene after the game with Haggins getting the obligatory Powerade bath, and offensive line coach Rick Trickett getting carried off the field by the players.

FSU fans seem relieved that the Jimbo Fisher saga is over and celebrated being FSU fans on social media.

Below are the current bowl game projections by a few outlets:

  • Independence Bowl vs. UCLA, December 27th at 1:30 p.m. (Sports Illustrated)
  • Independence Bowl vs. Southern Mississippi (CBS Sports)

Thoughts

The ‘Noles will have to wait for later Sunday to see who they’ll be matched up against in the bowl game.

It won’t be a huge bowl game like last season’s big win against Michigan in the Orange Bowl, but this will allow the team 15 more practices which will be huge for further development of all the young players on the team.
