FSU football has had arguably the craziest week I can recall with this Jimbo Fisher situation.

The FSU football program seemed to be in total disarray this week, but really hit its apex Wednesday night.

The ‘Noles lost three commitments from its 2018 recruiting class with the bell cow of the class saying they hadn’t been contacted in a month.

It seemed like most of the FSU fans on Twitter wanted Jimbo Fisher to announce he was leaving and get it over with. So I posted the followed poll on our Twitter feed and check out the response.

It’s a small sample size, but I thought it was interesting the majority of voters would be OK with losing the bowl game and preparing for 2018.

However, it seemed to get worse once Fisher announced he hadn’t made a decision and wouldn’t until AFTER the bowl game Saturday.

Ira Schoffel wrote a column about Fisher shouldn’t be allowed to coach the Louisiana-Monroe game. I agree with Ira on this too, and the comments were hot like fish grease with the same support.

Thoughts

To make things worse, Fisher said he wouldn’t change anything about how he has handled this week in his weekly post-practice interview with the media. It was also the shortest of the year by the way.

Say what!?

Jimbo Fisher severely miscalculated things and I still can’t for the life of me understand why he shut down recruiting efforts for the past month. Has he known he was going to Texas A&M all along?

Was it him not being sure but not wanting to send coaches out to recruit who he hadn’t planned to bring back to coach in Tallahassee next season?

Whatever the reasoning, it’s put whoever FSU hires next into a tough spot with the early signing period. Heck even IF he stayed now it would put him in a ridiculously tough spot with future recruits.

I appreciate everything Jimbo did for FSU football, but I do think it’s time for him to go and let FSU football move forward with his replacement.
