FSU football has quite the stranglehold on the rest of the state when it comes to the last few seasons – and one website is calling them the best there is.

After a decade in which FSU football fans watched their hated rivals from Miami and Florida win a third of the national titles (and play for another), it’s been a good seven season run so far this decade in which the Seminoles have been the top dogs in the Sunshine State. The team has rattled off a 17-1 record against in-state foes on top of everything else.

When it comes right down to it, the Noles are running the state of Florida at this point – and, hopefully, it won’t be stopping anytime soon. With many people expecting FSU football to not only win the ACC this season but also make the College Football Playoff, garnet and gold could be the official colors of the state for a while longer.

Recently, CBSSports.com ranked the best college football teams in each state entering the upcoming season and – surprise to no one – Florida State was named the best in Florida based on  a STACKED resume:

"Florida State has an outstanding coach (Jimbo Fisher)…had a Heisman winner (Jameis Winston), and a national championship in the same season, and hasn’t lost to Florida since 2012 and Miami since 2009. So, yeah, the Seminoles are the best in Florida."

Yeah, that about does the trick.

Is it going to last forever? Sadly, it probably won’t – college football is too weird of a sport to have a dynasty last two decades, no matter how good a team is. Even Alabama has had a few seasons during their recent run in which they have been second to Auburn. There will (unfortunately) come a time where the Seminoles might step back behind the Gators and Hurricanes.

But not today!

Plus, if you want some bragging rights for the ACC, in the four states where both them and the SEC have a team playing in it, the ACC team came out on top (Florida State, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Louisville) – further evidence who is the best conference in major college football.
