With the FSU football season quickly approaching the hype keeps getting larger and larger for the Noles. So should we buy or sell this year’s team?

FSU football practice kicked off just a few weeks ago and fans are buzzing daily about their Seminoles. With just 19 days to go until their opener against Alabama, season predictions are occurring all over social media. Does this years team have what it takes to meet the high expectations though? They certainly have a legitimate chance.

When it comes to the defensive side of the ball, I have no worries what that unit can do. By seasons end I firmly believe they will be a top 10 and possibly even a top five defense. With arguably the nation’s best secondary and top three front sevens, staying healthy and focused are the only obstacles for the 2017 defense.

The only offenses that give me any real concerns is Alabama and Louisville. Neither really jump out at me as huge threats, though. Louisville will not be nearly as explosive as they were last season as I definitely think the Cardinals take a step back. As for the Crimson Tide, its hard to really predict what they will bring to the table day one with their new offensive coordinator. However, I do expect the misdirection plays to cease with Lane Kiffin out of the picture.

Now as for the offense, I don’t feel quite as confident – however I do think if some key guys step up this offense can be successful enough to get it done. As I’ve said in previous articles, the offensive line needs to improve. I cant repeat this enough.

If the offensive line doesn’t give Francois more time this season, then I will have serious doubts about a CFB Playoff appearance. I’m a firm believer that to win a National Championship a team needs to be dominant in the trenches (both sides of the ball) and have a great quarterback.

"“…and we got a quarterback thats gonna toss that thang. O-line wake up!” – Jameis Winston, September 4, 2016"

As far as the rest of the offense the ‘Noles are pretty much set. With plenty of talent and depth to fill the void of Dalvin Cook and a experienced WR group returning, Deondre Francois has plenty of weapons at his disposal in 2017. I would like to see the anticipation improve and cut down on the turnovers.

Anticipation is a hard thing to coach. Either you have it or you don’t so hopefully Deondre can self improve that. Ill refer back to the offensive line here. Give Francois time to make smart decisions and this offense has some serious potential.

Buy or Sell?

I’m 100% buying into the 2017 Seminoles. This is overall one of the best defenses that FSU football has had in my opinion. Not even Charles Kelly can mess this up…I hope. The offense is talented enough to put 30+ points on everybody they face the season. So yes, give me 30+ points every game and a defense that will smother the opposition. I’m all in on this years team.
