FSU Baseball: Top 5 moments of the 2017 season
By Ty Ragans
FSU baseball’s season isn’t ending with the national championship they desired, but the 2017 season was certainly a memorable one.
Mike Martin and FSU baseball entered the 2017 season with the burden of high expectations. With the most talented players on their roster returning, some even had the Noles as a top five team. For the first half of the season, FSU baseball’s performances had many wondering if they were even a top 40 team.
For most of the season the Seminoles under-performed. At one point the Noles were staring at a 21-15 record and being left out of the post season. Despite the struggles and the criticisms, FSU was able to pull everything together and make a late run to the College World Series.
While many will be disappointed that the Noles came up short in Omaha again, it was still a successful season. FSU finished with a 46-23 record and made it to the College World Series for the first time since 2012. I really liked the personalities on this team and it was a joy to cover them.. at least for the last month. Let’s take a look back at the top five moments from a roller coaster season.
