FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State football recruiting in the 2026 cycle sits as the 15th-best class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. There has been a portion of the fan base that has been more pessimistic about recruiting since it slowed down after June.
However, I still believe that the Seminoles are in a good spot to finish just outside the top ten in recruiting, which should be a good foundation to build on for the future.
TIM HARRIS JR. IMPACT
One position group that I am excited about in the Seminoles' recruiting class is the wide receiver position. Florida State elected to relieve former assistant coach Ron Dugans of his duties and hire Tim Harris Jr. in his place.
This isn't a knock on Dugans because I love that he was a former Seminole and he truly cared about the university, but the standard is the standard at Florida State, and he knows that more than anyone.
Some fans were skeptical about Harris Jr. because they didn't know much about him. However, he has displayed his recruiting prowess this summer, where he has landed four-star Devin Carter, four-star Brandon Bennett, four-star Jasen Lopez, as well as locking down the recruitment of four-star Darryon Williams.
JONAH WINSTON
The Seminoles already have five wide receiver prospects committed to the fold, but they might not be done with acquiring talent at the position.
Class of 2026 talented wide receiver target Jonah Winston (younger brother of former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston) from Hoover, Alabama, has informed us at ChopChat that he will be in attendance for the Seminoles' season opener versus Alabama.
This is amazing news for Florida State as they hope to get a talented legacy recruit who has been in love with the university and has visited several times with his family. Given the uncertainty of four-star commit Efrem White's rumblings to Notre Dame and four-star Jasen Lopez's recruitment being open, this isn't a bad idea to have the options open at the position.
