FSU FOOTBALL WITH ACC KICKOFF

Florida State football will be taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Doak Campbell Stadium for its season opener on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. Fans realize that they want the bad taste of a 2-10 season to exit as the Seminoles look to be much improved.

Football is right around the corner as the Seminoles will be participating in the ACC Kickoff event on Wednesday, July 23.

Head football coach Mike Norvell will be bringing four players on his roster to Charlotte, North Carolina, as the Seminoles will be participating in ACC Kickoff: Quarterback Thomas Castellanos, offensive lineman Richie Leonard IV, defensive lineman Darrell Jackson Jr., and defensive back Earl Little Jr.

HYPING LITTLE JR.

I won't be the one to undermine the confidence that I had last season. I was wrong... I never thought that Florida State football's 2024 season would be that bad, but here we are. Honestly, there were a few players on the team that I was extremely high on. One of them was defensive back Earl Little Jr.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide defender was a highly-regarded recruit in the 2022 cycle that the Seminoles' coaching staff adored. It made sense that Little Jr. came to the Seminoles last offseason because his position coach (Patrick Surtain Sr.) used to be his head coach at American Heritage High School.

Bringing Little Jr. to ACC Kickoff likely means that Florida State wants to promote him, and they think of him highly. We already saw that defensive coordinator Tony White referred to the defensive back as "Him".

The redshirt junior will have to improve significantly in 2025, as he recorded only 15 tackles (one for loss) and one sack in a reserve role. Little Jr. moved from nickel to safety midway through last year so maybe that was the change that he needed to be successful.
