Win over Alabama could ultimately help Florida State land the nation's No. 1 QB

The common thread when discussing composite 5-star quarterback Kavian Bryant is that the 2027 prospect could be the championship piece for any top program. And Mike Norvell is doing everything in his power to convince Bryant that FSU is that program.

Bryant was on campus last weekend to check out the Seminoles up close. What he saw on the field in a 31-17 win over Alabama might be the deciding factor.

The fact that the entire Bryant family was on the trip is big news. Beyond the football aspect, the family got to see the campus and the resources the school provides for the student-athletes.

Bryant, who is also being recruited for basketball, got the opportunity to spend time around the facilities and the athletic buildings. His mother even shared some video from one part of the trip.

And before Bryant arrived in Tallahassee, the prospect out of Palestine, Texas put up some ridiculous numbers to lead Westwood High to a 54-14 season-opening win over Mexia. For the game, Bryant threw for 469 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 89 yards and two more touchdowns,

Yeah, sign me up for that.  Bryant was named Class 3A Player of the Week in Texas after positing those incredible numbers.

Does FSU being an "outsider" help them?

Bryant is going to have a pretty busy trip schedule this season and there's a chance he could return to Tallahassee. According to reports from Mike Roach at 247Sports there's a good chance that Bryant will make his decision later in the fall.

There's going to be a major pull for this super talent to stay in the Lone Star State and the one school that's really challenging FSU is Texas Tech. We know what kind of money the boosters involved with the Red Raiders are pumping into the program right now.

Texas and SMU are also in the picture for Bryant. I think FSU being outside of Texas might be a slight advantage because Bryant doesn't have to deal with the constant spotlight of being the top Texas high school player at an in-state college program. The expectations that are put on those players are often unrealistic and only a few players (i.e. Vince Young) can really live up to them.

Bryant clearly likes FSU and the Seminoles are going to be in the battle for him until he makes a decision. Whether this past weekend was enough to convince him to leave home, we'll soon find out.
