FSU FOOTBALL 2024 SEASON
Florida State football had a disastrous 2024 campaign, where they finished with a 2-10 record. It was difficult for the Seminole faithful to find positives in what transpired. It almost felt like the calendar going to the next year was the only way out.
Head football coach Mike Norvell added forty-four transfers and recruits to his roster, then grabbed six new coaches to the staff. The perception of the program has changed since the season-opening victory over Alabama.
It is funny how the tables have turned. There were individuals (even fans) who doubted the coaching ability of Norvell. This was surprising since the program was one year removed from finishing 13-1 in 2023.
GATORS ARE IN TROUBLE
We at Chop Chat celebrated the fact that head football coach Billy Napier of the arch-rival Florida Gators lost to South Florida at home. This was a great moment for Florida State football fans, as it is exciting to witness the Gators in misery.
Coach Napier's seat is in hot water after the defeat. The schedule, like last year, doesn't get any easier. Florida has to play LSU on the road, which will be its own set of difficult circumstances.
Then the Gators face Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Georgia in consecutive weeks. Let's not forget that they play the Seminoles at the end of the year. Coach Norvell won't let his squad forget when Florida tried to plant its flag at midfield in Doak Campbell Stadium after the Gators' 31-11 victory last year.
Coach Norvell approached Napier about the situation and seemed to be furious that he allowed his program to do that without stepping in. It is assumed that Florida State has this matchup circled more this year to make it a personal statement. Coach Norvell wants Napier to make it to November.
