FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP SCRIMMAGE
Florida State football conducted its fall camp scrimmage on Tuesday night. The anticipation of recovering from a 2-10 record and having to perform up to expectations to ensure that a sustainable product is obtained can be challenging.
Head football coach Mike Norvell wants to see his squad compete. The roster is filled with new players from the recruiting ranks and the transfer portal. Some of the fan base is likely tired of starting over with new players and coaches.
However, it shouldn't all be listed as a negative. The Seminoles did a phenomenal job of trying to retool their offense after Florida State ranked near the bottom of college football last year. While fans want to discuss the pickup of quarterback Thomas Castellanos, he has to have weapons to throw the football to.
WR DUCE ROBINSON
One pass catcher that I am excited for is USC transfer Duce Robinson. The Seminoles tried their luck in the transfer portal last offseason with Malik Benson and Jalen Brown, but both options fizzled off and ended up transferring out of the program after the year was over.
Robinson is a legacy prospect who hopes to be better than former defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. I will say that the former five-star prospect had 39 receptions for 747 yards and seven touchdowns during his two seasons with the Trojans.
The 6'6" wide receiver could be a mismatch-up nightmare for almost anyone. The Florida State social media team highlighted Robinson as one of the Seminoles' best cornerbacks, Jeremiah Wilson, during the scrimmage.

This was an impressive grab by Robinson against a tremendous defender in Wilson with tight coverage. If the Seminoles want to move the football and stay ahead of the chains, Castellanos will likely depend on contested catches from the big-bodied playmaker at times.
