FSU FOOTBALL IS BACK!
Florida State is a hot topic for the college football community after beating Alabama. Even though they also defeated East Texas A&M, it goes a bit under the radar since it was in blowout fashion.
More of the same could be in store for those Kent State Golden Flashes, who are coming off a loss to Power Four opponent Texas Tech the week before by a score of 62-14. The program was a laughingstock last year as they finished with a 0-12 record. The Seminoles were even in contention with their offense last season, which should tell you how the train wreck was in 2024.
The Golden Flashes also played conference opponent Buffalo, and the Bulls had to score a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to secure a 31-28 victory.
DO YOU THINK FLORIDA STATE WILL COVER?
2025 is a new opportunity filled with optimism and excitement. The roster has over forty-four new transfers and recruits. Plus, the fans will be rocking once again in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium at 3:30 PM EST. The oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook feel that this will be a blowout as Florida State is favored by 44.5 points to the Golden Flashes on Saturday.
This might seem high to some in the fan base, but this is a Florida State squad that is on a mission after the disappointment of last year. When the Seminoles beat Alabama, head football coach Mike Norvell was mad that the program didn't defeat them by more than two touchdowns.
The quarterback Thomas Castellanos to wide receiver Duce Robinson connection looks to be just getting started, as the pass catcher had five receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Plus, running back Gavin Sawchuk is finding his stride in the offense with 119 total yards and four touchdowns.
This is a Seminoles squad that wants to exhibit its physicality and aggression early in the matchup, as they led the Lions by a score of 49-0 at halftime. It could be dicey late in the third quarter versus Kent State when the backups are in, but Florida State should be focused on the task at hand to fly through the Golden Flashes and get ready for the pivotal ACC matchup against Virginia.
