Why Mike Norvell wasn't broken and has FSU in better shape than you thought

Parting Thoughts

The goal at FSU is to win conference and national championships. The coaches and players can change, but winning championships is always the standard.

It's why FSU is likely the only team in the ACC that can have a 2-10 season and do what they've done over the past month.

It's the only team in Florida that's been down a couple of times and bounced back to play at a high level under two different coaches in the past decade.

I'm not here to pump sunshine. Will FSU compete for a national title in 2025? Probably not. Will Mike Norvell win a national title at FSU in the next five years?

I have no idea, but the odds say that's probably not likely.

Mike Norvell said he was evaluating all things as the season progressed, and he's shown what he thought the issues were. He made coaching changes, and the 10 players added in the Winter Transfer Portal have a clear distinction. The man wasn't broken, he was tired of losing and couldn't do much of anything about it until the season finished.

I'm not saying FSU will win the ACC or make the CFP next year, but I'd be willing to bet they won't be anywhere near 2-10 again unless some catastrophic injuries or something happens.
