FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State football had a productive summer with its 2026 recruiting class. The Seminoles excelled at acquiring elite prospects even after the 2-10 season last year.
This is mainly due to head football coach Mike Norvell hiring a new assistant coaching staff that included coordinators Gus Malzahn and Tony White. The Seminoles are looking to erase the disappointment of the campaign.
Florida State ranks No. 14 in the 247Sports Composite rankings in the 2026 cycle. The Seminoles don't look to be finished with their class, but the football season will be a determining factor if they can sneak into the top ten.
AMARI THOMAS DE-COMMITMENT
Florida State football has not lost any pivotal recruits on the recruiting trail. The Seminoles have a solid prospect list, but I know the fan base wants better from a program that should be used to contending for conference and national championships.
Florida State fans were puzzled by the de-commitment of four-star running back Amari Thomas from Marianna, Florida. Thomas was seen wearing South Carolina gear during the Seminoles' 7v7 tournament. He made it official on Friday afternoon that the Florida native was taking his talents to Columbia, South Carolina.

The fan base is prone to bad news after the 2-10 season, but the running back position should be something that individuals don't have to worry about too much, since Coach Malzahn emphasized the point of establishing the running game.
Who should the Seminoles pursue at the running back position now that Thomas is pledged to the Gamecocks?
Florida State tried to recruit four-star Ezavier Crowell, four-star Jae Lamar, and four-star Carsyn Baker, but they all committed elsewhere. This should be an offense that features the running game, especially if they highlight true freshman Ousmane Kromah.
I know that Kromah is a star in the offense by early indication, but with the Seminoles potentially having a top-25 rushing attack in the country and a 7/8 win season (maybe), this could be a chance for Florida State to flip an elite back.
