Let me start by saying that Florida State football finished with a 2-10 record in 2024, with losses to arch-rivals Florida and Miami. This is not the standard of the Seminoles and head football coach Mike Norvell as well as the fan base know that major changes were needed.
While Florida State has its disappointments and failures as a program, the Seminoles have been successful and relevant in the past twenty years. The same cannot be said about the Miami Hurricanes, who were left out of the discussion for the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoff.
This was after their fan base raved about the squad all offseason just to be let down. The Hurricanes start the year with high expectations where they just crumble under pressure. All they had to do was beat Syracuse on the road with their superstar quarterback Cam Ward to have a chance to do something they have never done: Win an ACC Championship.
However, yet again, they were disappointed. Then they took it a step further where they were slated to take on the Iowa State Cyclones in the Pop Tart Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
Disclaimer: Florida State sold out the stadium for the Cheez-It-Bowl in 2022 versus Oklahoma, but Miami could barely get their fan base to attend to see Cam Ward for the final time.
Just in Hurricanes' fashion, Miami was defeated by Iowa State by a score of 42-41. To rub salt in the wound, quarterback Cam Ward put on a clinic in the first half for the Hurricanes where he completed 12 of his 19 passes for 190 yards with three touchdowns then he opted out of playing the entire second half.
Florida State fans were having fun on social media as the Hurricanes still only have ONE bowl win since 2007. To make it even sweeter, legendary head football coach Bobby Bowden has two bowl wins in that time frame.
The Miami Hurricanes have only won one bowl game in the last 18yrs..

The truth of the matter is that social media is letting Miami have it after their long discussion of how great they were in the offseason. With the Hurricanes losing so many pieces, it will be interesting to see how they respond, but in the meantime, I am interested in how they react to the shortcomings.
