2. GET AN ELITE PASS RUSHER IN THE PORTAL

Tony White's defense in Nebraska had a ton of success because of their ability to apply pressure on the quarterback. Just look at games such as when they played Colorado and Ohio State, it was evident that the signal-callers couldn't operate because of being harassed.

Florida State has a talented pass rusher in true freshman defensive lineman Mandrell Desir, who has 6.5 sacks on the year (according to ESPN Stats and Information). The former three-star prospect was someone that the fan base didn't anticipate being much of anything during his first year.

However, Coach White tried to tell the fan base in the summer that the Desir Twins were something. The fan base is terrified of preseason expectations, since the 2024 season was such a train wreck after all the hype.

Overall, Florida State needs more than just Desir. They need an experienced pass rusher to go alongside him. The true freshman is more of a hybrid defensive tackle/defensive end. The transfer portal will need to be the Seminoles' best friend. Florida State landed nine defensive linemen in the recruiting class, but they need experienced help instead of throwing numbers at the problem.

Pass rusher will be a top need, even though several teams will come knocking if a Jared Verse type of player comes in the portal. The Seminoles will need to pay up with the rest of them. The administration talked about giving the program all the resources that it needs. Well, it is time for elite defensive ends to come to Tallahassee.
