SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
After its official visit weekend, Florida State football is gaining traction on the recruiting front. The Seminoles landed Class of 2026 three-star defensive lineman Wihtlley Cadeau from Atlanta, Georgia, and it felt like Florida State could be getting more talented recruits shortly.
One prospect that looked like a slam-dunk recruitment was Class of 2026 three-star linebacker/defensive back Daylen Green from Gadsden County High School in Havana, Florida. The program had received multiple crystal ball predictions from Noles247's Zach Blostein and Brendan Sonnone.
Some individuals mentioned that Green was very close to committing to the Seminoles last week, but he wanted his mother to see the campus for herself to get the stamp of approval. The fan base thought that he would take his recruitment slower as he had an official visit with the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend.
ARKANSAS MUST'VE BEEN HOME
I never thought of Arkansas being the school that he considered after speaking glowingly about Florida State, but I guess you can never question recruiting these days. The Razorbacks were able to get Green on campus.
The Gadsden County High School standout recorded 110 tackles last season and is someone that the program can rely on if he sticks. It is unclear whether or not the defender will take his official visit to Florida State.
However, it has to feel very deflating that the defender didn't wait to commit after he was done with all of his schools, instead of choosing to pledge to Arkansas immediately after the visit. It could be that Florida State went in a different direction and felt more confident with four-star options DJ Forkpa, TJ White, and Rodney Colton Jr., who officially visited this weekend.
I am always of the opinion that you never turn away a talented local option, even if they are the third or fourth best at the position.
