FSU FOOTBALL VS MIAMI
It's Florida State versus Miami. There shouldn't have to be extra motivation from the coaching staff to get the players ready for this game. This is why you wear the Garnet and Gold for contests like this.
College Football GameDay showed that they didn't value the matchup as they elected to go to a sleepy, ranked matchup between Alabama and Vanderbilt. Yes, it is understandable that Florida State lost to Virginia on the road, but the game against Miami could be legendary.
The Hurricanes are still pumped up after being ranked in the top five, but Florida State will have something to say about that as it comes into Doak Campbell Stadium. Defensive coordinator Tony White and his unit will be under a magnifying glass after their performance versus Virginia.
FSU OFFENSE
The truth of the matter is that the Seminoles' offense will be just as important because they are in charge of putting points on the scoreboard to win the game (unless you are Iowa).
Quarterback Thomas Castellanos will be in charge of shutting up the fan base in Coral Gables. He already did it once with the Crimson Tide faithful, so it could be easier now that he has already been through it.
The signal-caller relied on big-bodied receiver Duce Robinson in the game against the Cavaliers, where he had nine receptions for 147 yards and one touchdown. However, he could have had more yardage, but the ACC decided to overturn his catch in the end zone.
Unfortunately, there has not been a playmaker who has stepped up as a number two option behind Robinson. However, true freshman Jayvan Boggs could be someone to monitor. Robinson raved about Boggs this offseason, where he mentioned that he was "an NFL guy".
The Cocoa, Florida, native has only recorded four receptions for 33 yards and one touchdown. Head football coach Mike Norvell expects more this week from Boggs after he did not play against Virginia. This has led me to believe that the talented pass catcher will finally make an impact, since the Hurricanes will be focused on eliminating Duce Robinson.
