Florida State football is practicing Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday this week in a modified schedule. The Seminoles are looking to get better every day. After the 2-10 record transpired in Tallahassee, the coaching staff will look to do whatever it can to make sure that it does not happen again.

Head football coach Mike Norvell spoke to the media on Thursday after practice where he told the media that it was a physical practice.

"We did not lack intensity today. It was a good practice with guys coming out with purpose."

Norvell continued with the statement where he told individuals that Friday's practice might be a shorter one, but it would focus on the idea of short-yardage and goal line.

This practice could be a good indicator of where the Seminoles' physicality level is. This is where champions are made. Florida State football fans want to see the offense score touchdowns. They didn't score as many as they would have liked in 2024, but offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn is looking to turn that narrative around significantly.

With that said, which running back will get the goal line carries? Here are three options to consider:

Kam Davis

Florida State's coaching staff was very high on four-star Kam Davis out of school. He looked like a grown man put into an 18-year-old's body. Davis was an early enrollee, but he struggled to find the endzone as he recorded 52 carries for 173 yards and zero touchdowns.

The Georgia native used to play quarterback for his high school team, but he helped the Seminoles' backfield tremendously. With his size at 5'10" and 224 pounds, he could be the perfect goal-line back for the offense. This could be a perfect opportunity for him to finally reach the end zone.

Caziah Holmes

The former Penn State running back transfer is someone that the fan base often forgets about, but he is a supremely talented option for the backfield. Holmes is a redshirt senior, who had 15 carries for 84 yards and three touchdowns.

Even though Holmes did not get many carries, he made the best of his opportunities when it was presented. I think this is a sneaky pick of a potential goal line due to his 5'11" and 215-pound frame.

Roydell Williams

I was one of the individuals who was super high on former Alabama running back transfer Roydell Williams. However, he ended up suffering an injury early in the season that prohibited him from competing and he got to redshirt for the 2024 season.

Williams had 26 carries for 53 yards and two touchdowns last season. One thing that I noticed about Malzahn is that he loves to utilize a workhorse back in his offenses. I could side him going with someone such as Williams who has been through the gauntlet in the SEC.

Honorable mention: Signee Ousmane Kromah

I know that it is difficult to expect a true freshman to pop in a contest and make an immediate impact like he is Warrick Dunn or Dalvin Cook. However, the coaching staff had to have gave enough resources for Kromah to flip from Georgia to Florida State.

The only negative aspect is that he is a true freshman who isn't even enrolled at Florida State and will be enrolling in the summer. I would just suggest that fans temper expectations since the running back is so young.
