Former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis announced on Wednesday afternoon that he would be retiring from the NFL. This is a devastating blow from the fan base as he was a beloved figure in Tallahassee.
We at ChopChat thought it would only be right that we highlight his top-five performances during his time with the Seminoles.
2023: LSU
Florida State had a pivotal season-opening matchup against the SEC powerhouse LSU Tigers in 2023. Some individuals thought that the Seminoles would be heavy contenders to compete for the College Football Playoff with all of the pieces returning from the 2022 squad.
They were right, as Florida State started the game slowly, as they were trailing at halftime by a score of 17-14. However, just as good leaders do at the quarterback position, veteran Jordan Travis reeled the offense together as they outscore the Tigers by a score of 31-7 in the second half.
Travis completed 23 of his 31 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns with only one interception. He also added 38 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

2023: CLEMSON
As most college football fans know, it is very difficult to win in Clemson's Death Valley. This is a tall task for opposing offenses since the crowd noise is always a factor. Plus, Florida State had not won at Clemson since 2013 when quarterback Jameis Winston and the Seminoles won the game in blowout fashion by a score of 51-14.
While it wasn't the blowout result in 2023, Florida State defeated head football coach Dabo Swinney and his squad in overtime by a score of 24-17. Quarterback Jordan Travis threw a 24-yard strike in the end zone to ultra-talented pass catcher Keon Coleman.
Travis finished the game with 21 of 27 completions for 289 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a rushing touchdown, too.

2022: LSU
You thought we were done highlighting Jordan Travis's dominance over the LSU Tigers?
Absolutely not.
This was Jordan Travis's coming-out party to introduce the nation that the Seminoles were no longer a "laughing stock" that was losing to FCS opponents at home. Going into the 2022 season, Florida State fans did not know if the dual-threat signal-caller had what it took to take a team to elevated heights.
Even though the game came down to a blocked extra-point attempt to win the game by a score of 24-23, Travis showed the nation what he was about as he completed 20 of his 33 pass attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 31 rushing yards in a contest that was in LSU's backyard.

2022: FLORIDA
During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Jordan Travis got the best of his arch-rivals, Miami and Florida. He consistently made those teams sweat bullets with his rushing abilities.
The Seminoles were taking on the 6-5 Florida Gators in Doak Campbell Stadium. Florida State was still fighting each game so that it could accomplish a 10-win season. It was a nail-biter thanks to the long passes and rushes from the Gators.
It was by far one of the worst passing performances from Travis, where he completed 13 of his 30 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown. However, he excelled in his rushing games, where he had 83 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. He was virtually impossible to tackle.

2019: BOSTON COLLEGE
This was a difficult time for the Florida State football program to navigate. The Seminoles fired former head football coach Willie Taggart, where the program was limping to the finish line of the 2019 season.
As a result, the Seminoles made long-time assistant coach Odell Haggins the interim coach. Florida State decided to do whatever it took to win. There was a former Louisville transfer, Jordan Travis, on the roster who had some speed.
Travis was inserted into the lineup in a road game in Chestnut Hill, where the Seminoles were trailing Boston College by a score of 14-10 at halftime. Florida State was faced with a 3rd & 3 at the Boston College 26-yard line. The Seminoles decided to place Jordan Travis as the signal-caller, where he scrambled for a 26-yard rushing touchdown to give the Seminoles the lead.
Travis wasn't done being clutch as Florida State was leading by a score of 31-24 with 1:14 left to go in the fourth quarter. The offense was at the Seminoles' 34-yard line. And guess what, Florida State placed Travis at quarterback again, and he scrambled for a 66-yard touchdown to seal the game.
A legend was born!
