Landen Thomas-Tight End

Landen Thomas was another big win for Mike Norvell and Chris Thomsen on the recruiting trail with the 2024 recruiting class.

Thomas flipped from Georgia in the Spring of 2023, and it looked like a clear sign that FSU was moving in the right direction with high school recruiting. After all, Landen Thomas was the No. 103-ranked player nationally.

Thomas had a promising freshman campaign when FSU moved to its youth movement once the season was a wash. He finished with 14 receptions for 173 yards and one touchdown. However, the addition of Randy Pittman from the transfer portal seemed to force him to take a backseat in 2025.

Thomas only had three receptions for 35 yards and two touchdowns in 2025 in 12 games. Some of it was probably Thomas Castellanos’ limitations as a passer, but how does the production drop off THAT much?

Pittman will likely return in 2026, so keeping Thomas probably doesn’t make much sense since he’s not a difference-maker in the blocking game.
