Charles Lester-DB

Charles Lester was a big part of that 2024 high school recruiting class. He was the second-highest-ranked player in the recruiting class and the No. 54 player overall. FSU beat out Colorado, Alabama, Clemson, and several other top programs for his commitment.

Do you remember when FSU QB commit Luke Kromenhoek and his father drove from Georgia to Florida to watch Lester commit in person? That seems like a lifetime ago.

Lester has appeared in 14 games over the past two years, including 90 snaps in 2025. He’s totaled seven tackles and one pass defended. His PFF grade this season wasn’t good, and freshman Shemar Arnoux passed him up on the depth chart when Ja’Bril Rawls got hurt.

The cornerback position is one where high-profile recruits can usually get on the field early in their career. It seemed that when we saw Lester on the field, he was getting cooked way too often. It’s probably time for him to get paid like he’s producing or not to pay him at all.
