James Williams-DE

If you want to talk about one of the biggest disappointments? James Williams fits the bill. The guy talks a good game on the microphone, and the coaching staff did their part to make it seem like he’d be a big part of the defense.

However, every time I saw him, he was diving at the feet of a quarterback, not making a play. Williams only had 19 tackles, three tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks.

How can a guy who was supposed to be a sack specialist only have five QB hurries and that amount of production in 12 games? I know he is familiar with the FSU defense, but I didn’t see anything from Williams that leads me to believe he’d become an impact player in his final year of eligibility next year.

He probably won’t go because of his relationship with Terrance Knighton, but he’s not worth bringing back next year.
